Mining

The use of access control and CCTV mining is essential for the secure, safe and efficient operation of a mine.

CCTV allows the reduction of operational staff numbers by allowing a centralised automated control system to be used while still allowing observation of the mining and handling operations. This centralised control can be on site or thousands of kilometres away with modern networks and IP CCTV systems.

Security of mine sites is of extreme importance, particularly for gold mines in protecting the high value commodity. Bulk commodity mines are also essential to protect. Un-authorised entry could lead to a danger to the intruder by coming into harm with heavy machinery or materials handling equipment.

Safety is enhanced by the ability to restrict access to the sites, or parts of sites to authorised personnel, current in their inductions and qualifications.
