Access Control

Electronic Access Control is a widely used way of limiting or controlling access to secured areas. The control is most commonly achieved by RFID cards or fobs that identify a user to the access control system to either allow or deny access.

More sophisticated control can be achieved through biometrics, the most common form for access control is finger print readers.

Through linking the access control database with other databases, such as a Human Resources database, access can be automatically managed when staff commence, leave or their induction time period expires.

Access Control is quite often linked to the site CCTV system. This enables a stored image from the access control system to be displayed simultaneously with video of the access door to ensure that the correct person is accessing the secured area.
